TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol — The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) turned over 12 mechanical ventilators to five government hospitals in Bohol on Friday (March 20), strengthening the province’s ability to handle critical care cases.
The ventilators were distributed through PCSO’s Medical Equipment Donation Program (MEDP) to Garcia Memorial Provincial Hospital in Talibon, Teodoro B. Galagar District Hospital in Jagna, Cong. Simeon G. Toribio Memorial Hospital in Carmen, Catigbian District Hospital, and Francisco Dagohoy Memorial Hospital in Inabanga.
Garcia Memorial Provincial Hospital received six ventilators, while Teodoro B. Galagar District Hospital received three units. The remaining hospitals were given one unit each.
PCSO General Manager Mel Robles said the donation demonstrates the government’s effort to bring healthcare services closer to local communities.
“Padala po ito ni President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.,” Robles said during the turnover ceremony. “Laging bilin niya sa amin that government should go to the people.”
Robles added that healthcare support should be delivered equitably to all Filipinos, regardless of political affiliation.
Bohol Governor Aris Aumentado said the additional ventilators would significantly improve hospital preparedness and enhance the province’s response to medical emergencies.
He noted that the equipment also strengthens Bohol’s readiness for possible future health crises, citing lessons learned during the COVID-19 pandemic.
PCSO also turned over a ₱277,940.92 check representing Bohol’s lotto shares for the period covering July to December 2025.
