MALOLOS City — Seventy-eight families in Malolos with relatives who are Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in the Middle East, currently affected by war, received financial assistance from the city government on Thursday.
Mayor Christian D. Natividad handed out P10,000 each to the third group of OFW relatives impacted by the unrest in the region.
Earlier last week, the mayor distributed aid to 13 and 36 families, respectively, whose OFW relatives were caught in the conflict and remain stranded, unable to return home or send money to their families.

“Since the outbreak of the war in the Middle East, OFWs from our city have found themselves in dangerous situations, prompting the city government to establish a ‘Special Help Desk,’” Mayor Natividad said.
“We have already provided financial assistance to 127 families since the conflict began, all of whom are currently unable to receive support from their loved ones abroad,” he added.
The mayor also said arrangements will be made to help the families’ children return home safely.
