MANILA – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. urged citizens to carry the spirit of Easter into their daily lives through acts of compassion and unity.
Celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the end of Holy Week, Marcos said the occasion is a reminder that hope is everlasting and renewal is always possible.
“The empty tomb shows us that life triumphs over death, and hope shines through despair,” he said.
Beyond reflection, the President emphasized that Easter calls for action: tangible gestures of care and solidarity.
“As a nation renowned for resilience and faith, we must translate the lessons of Easter into deeds that make a difference,” Marcos said.
He urged Filipinos to favor compassion over apathy and unity over division, noting that these values are essential in nation-building.
“Every kind act, every helping hand, serves as an instrument of renewal for the country,” he added.
Marcos concluded with a call for renewed purpose, hope, and shared responsibility among Filipinos.
“When we stand together, guided by faith and love for our nation, no obstacle is insurmountable,” he said.
Easter Sunday remains a major observance in the Philippines, a country with a strong Catholic heritage.
