MANILA — San Miguel Corporation (SMC) has addressed social media posts questioning the feasibility of its multi-billion-peso Bulacan airport project, stressing that the circulating claims do not accurately reflect the current status of development.
In a statement, SMC said misleading posts online could create unnecessary confusion for the public and raise unwarranted concerns among project stakeholders.
“Some statements circulating online are inaccurate and misleading. This can create unnecessary confusion for the public and concern for stakeholders,” the company said.
SMC encouraged individuals with questions about the airport project to use official channels, where inquiries can be addressed with verified technical information.
“We encourage anyone with questions about the project to express them through the proper channels, where they can be discussed clearly and with access to verified technical information,” it added.
The company also requested Meta Platforms to review social media pages that repeatedly post misleading information while hiding their identities, in line with the platform’s policies.
SMC assured the public that construction and development activities for the Bulacan airport are continuing according to international standards and with the support of experienced global partners.
